Merry Christmas Jeni!

For Christmas everyone in my family picks out a name to buy them a gift so we don't have to buy everyone in my family something. Well I picked out my sisters name, Jeni. And I did the same thing for her as what I did for Emily. It's a bunch of little picture frames put together and so I put pictures of me and her in most of them then a quote in one and a poem that I wrote in another.

My Sister
Jeni you are my sister,
and forever you will always be.
The times we spend together,
will be engraved in my memory.
We’ve had so many laughs,
but fights there were too,
but what kind of sisters would we be
if we never did yell and argue.
I am very glad that I have a sister
as kind and generous as you.
The one that I can always count on,
the one that comes to my rescue.
I’m glad to call you my sister
and also my best friend,
because I know that no matter what,
we will be until the end.

Oreo Truffles! Yum!

In my Novels class we all have to bring a Christmas treat to share with the whole class and we also have to bring in the recipe. Well me and Rusti both wanted to make oreo truffles so we decided to team up and make them together. Sense Rusti has to finish them up by herself I decided to get the recipe but also turn it into a poem. Of course, who knew right!?

Oreo Truffles!
By: Whitney Goodall
What do you want to make? Oreo Truffles, okay!
Now, I am going to help you out so don’t fall stray.
But before you get started make sure you run to the store,
don’t worry it doesn’t cost much, so don’t worry about being poor.
You only need three things so let me tell you what they are,
you’re going to need 1lb of Oreos that’s how you’re going to start.
You’re also going to need 8 ounces of cream cheese,
trust me they are delicious if you have the munchies.
1lb of milk chocolate, and a ½ pound of white,
I must say that sounds quite right.
Now get your butt home before it gets too late,
you might have to ask someone for help if you want them to taste great!
Now get out your blender and start blending the Oreos together,
and make sure there’s no crumbs cause trust me they’ll taste better.
Now that you’re done with your blender get out that snazzy mixer,
and mix those yummy Oreos and cream cheese to a mixture.
Make sure there are no traces of cream cheese.
Don’t mess these up cause these are your duties.
Now roll them into small bite size balls,
and please control yourself, no throwing at the walls!
Then put them on a wax-lined cookie sheet,
Doesn’t it sound like an amazing treat!?
Don’t worry you are almost done,
But aren’t you having so much fun!?
Now you have to refrigerate them for 45 minutes.
And trust me these will be your favorite!
Now lineup two cookie sheets with wax paper,
Just trust me I’m doing you a big favor.
In a double-boiler melt the milk chocolate,
It might look as smooth and soft as velvet.
Now dip the balls and coat thoroughly,
please do not rush and do this poorly.
With a slotted spoon lift balls out of chocolate,
And let them sit for just a minute.
Let excess chocolate drip-off into the pan,
Now isn’t this as easy as you began?
Place the chocolate covered balls on waxed cookie sheet,
Now just think it’s almost complete!
In a second double boiler, melt the white chocolate,
and drizzle with a fork onto the balls and make sure you hit your target.
Now let them cool and after that,
You’re almost done so you can go chat.
Store them in an airtight container,
and place them in the refrigerator.
And now you’ve completed the amazing Oreo truffles,
and after you eat one you just might even crumble.

T'was The Day Before Christmas

Little Tommy Browns Christmas
The Day Before Christmas

By: Whitney Goodall
T’was the day before Christmas and all through the town,
all the kids were out playing, except Tommy Brown.
He sat in a corner with his bear he named Ted,
even though he was told to go lay in his bed.
Tommy looked out the window and all he could see,
were parents putting lights on their houses and trees.
Tommy Browns mother walked in with something to say
about the jolly, old fat man that rode on a sleigh.
“He’s a fake, he’s not real, he’s just a big lie!”
Tommy didn’t want to believe, but he let out a sigh.
His heart started pounding as the magic washed away.
Tommy knew Santa Claus wouldn’t show up the next day.
As it started to get dark, Tommy laid in his bed,
knowing that Santa Claus and nine reindeer were all in his head.
Time started passing, Tommy just couldn’t sleep.
But one moment later he heard a slight creep.
Tommy just couldn’t help it, so he jumped out of bed.
He didn’t know what to believe, because of what mama said.
The noises got louder, so he went to check it out.
As he went up the stairs and then he heard a shout!
“Ho, ho, ho!” Said the man where the tree lit aglow,
Tommy was struck by surprise as he started to tiptoe.
The man looked at Tommy his face filled with despair,
as Tommy had clutched hold of his teddy bear.
“I see you still have him, your best friend that I made.”
Tommy looked down at Ted as the memory would never fade.
He looked at the man with a confused look in his eyes,
“I got Ted for Christmas, the year my daddy died.”
“I remember that Christmas” said the old man,
“you were a depressed little boy, so I lent the elf’s a hand”
“Elf’s!?” Said Tommy, “Then wait, who are you?”
“I’m the man that makes all your wishes come true.”
“Santa?” said Tommy, “I was told you’re not real.”
Santa looked right at Tommy and said, “Is that how you really feel?”
“I didn’t want to believe all things mamma said,
but she is my mom so I listened to the lies she had spread.
But I know in my heart that the magic is real,
It’s all just as real as the snowflakes we feel.”
Santa agreed with what Tommy had said,
so he explained to Tommy before he went to bed.
When people think of winter and the Christmas season,
They think of the ice and the debts they will be in.
And as we step outside during this time of year,
We breathe a cold breath and think the air has never been so clear.
Then we feel a cold breeze that makes us shiver,
knowing that the coldness will make us all bitter.
But then the first snowflake falls on your cheek,
Making every snowflake just as unique.
So the magic doesn’t come from what someone has said,
it comes from your heart and not your head.
Now young Tommy Brown do you understand,
that the magic in Christmas was never planned?”
Tommy had the biggest smile on his face,
what Santa Claus has told him could never be erased.
Tommy told Santa “I understand perfectly,
I never though I could understand that Christmas has so much beauty.”
Santa Claus smiled and said “My work here is done,
I have so many toys to deliver to the children.
Now young boy run off to bed, I have so much to do.
Ho, ho, ho, one more thing, A Merry Christmas to you!”

My Bestest Friend

My Best Friend
The one that I love, the one I can trust,
the one that is always there for me, whenever times get tough.
We’ve been through guys, we’ve been through fights,
but we are always their for each other, even in the mid of night.
There have been disagreements, but of course there always are,
because if there were none, our friendship would be bizarre.
We always do such random things, but that’s what makes it fun.
Even if we get in trouble, we try and learn our lesson.
I want you to know that your my very best friend,
and no matter what you think, you will be until the end.
I will always be here for you, whenever you need me.
Even if you don’t think so, just wait and you will see.
Emily I love you, I want you to remember that,
because you can always talk to me, even when we are old and fat.

Your Best Friend
I wrote this poem for Emily for Christmas. I got a picture frame but it's a bunch of little picture frames hooked together and I had two extra frames so in one I wrote a poem and in the other I put a quote. I hope she will like it cause I put a lot of time and effort into it. And I am tempted to keep it to myself. :)
